About the ENPM Program
The Professional Master of Engineering (ENPM) Program is a practice-oriented part-time graduate program designed to assist engineers and technical professionals in the development of their careers and to provide the expertise needed in the rapidly changing business, government, and industrial environments. Students in the program have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge in their discipline and, in some cases, launch a new career path.
In operation since 1994, we offer 16 areas of concentration or options covering a broad spectrum of engineering technology that reflects faculty expertise and changing needs within the professional engineering community. A rich array of graduate-level courses, focusing on both traditional and emerging technologies, is the result of great cooperation from the administrators and faculty in the A. James Clark School of Engineering .
In order to address the needs of individuals who do not find the full 30-credit hour ENPM Program an appropriate option, a new instructional program, the Graduate Certificate in Engineering (GCEN) Program is being offered under the ENPM Program. The GCEN is fully recognized by the State of Maryland as a formal academic award and requires the successful completion of twelve credit hours, or equivalently four courses. This Certificate has been in place since Fall 2000.
Continued encouragement and support from Dr. Herb Rabin, Interim Dean, the department chairs, the full-time faculty, and the adjunct faculty, who bring special expertise and experience into the classroom, bodes well for the program to achieve its mission of providing technology-based knowledge to practicing engineers and scientists throughout the state.
